Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle

After a brutal fight that costs countless lives, humanity believes it has finally brought down Godzilla—the force that drove people off Earth 20,000 years earlier. The victory proves premature: the Godzilla Haruo Sakaki’s unit defeated wasn’t the only one left on the planet. Badly injured, Haruo regains consciousness in the care of a young girl from the Houtua, a tribe whose humanlike appearance and hard-won adaptations have allowed them to endure Earth’s transformed environment.

With supplies running thin, the surviving special forces are forced to choose between abandoning their long-lost home or wagering everything on one more impossible campaign. A slim chance emerges when the Bilusaludo uncover surviving traces of Mechagodzilla, an anti-Godzilla weapon thought to be lost. Yet even that discovery may not be enough against a Godzilla that has spent millennia evolving into an even more formidable opponent.
