Lord of Vermilion: The Crimson King

Tokyo, January 29, 2030—an intense high-frequency resonance ripples through the city as a red fog pours in. Humans and animals who hear the sound collapse without warning, and Tokyo grinds to a halt under fears of an unknown, epidemic-causing virus. Then, six days later, the city’s people awaken as though nothing had happened, and the quarantined districts slowly begin to function again.

The calm doesn’t last. In the wake of the resonance, unsettling phenomena start to surface, drawing residents into a growing web of mysteries. At the same time, certain youths discover a power sleeping in their blood, awakening as “vessels of wisdom blood” and being pulled toward one another by an unseen force—into a fate that demands harsh sacrifices.
