Ex-Arm

In 2014, Akira Natsume’s life ends in a traffic accident—only for him to regain consciousness 16 years later as a mind housed in a machine. Police officer Minami Uezono and her android partner, Alma, reveal the truth: Akira’s brain now exists within an EX-ARM, a classified weapon capable of catastrophic destruction. Trapped aboard a hostile smuggler ship, the trio is forced to rely on quick thinking and combat ability to survive and break free.

Though Akira hesitates to fight at first, memories of his brother push him to act. By taking control of Alma’s body, he confronts attackers with martial arts skill, and once connected to the ship’s systems, he uncovers the EX-ARM’s frightening power—hacking and seizing command of the vessel with ease. Back on land, Akira is introduced to the police unit tasked with containing EX-ARM threats, and after seeing what people will do to obtain these weapons, he chooses to join their efforts to stop the violence they enable.
