The Case Files of Jeweler Richard

Richard Ranasinghe de Vulpian, a young British jewelry appraiser with an expert eye for minerals, runs a small shop in Japan. One night, he’s rescued from a group of drunks by Seigi Nakata, a straight-laced college student. Their chance encounter turns into a professional connection when Seigi asks Richard to evaluate a pink sapphire ring left behind by his late grandmother.

Seigi soon begins working part-time at the shop, and the two take on a steady stream of jewel-centered consultations from clients with varied lives and circumstances.
