Myne discovers the Holy Church is desperate for mana to power its sacred relics, and she seizes the opportunity as a possible remedy for her dangerous condition. After glimpsing the Church’s well-stocked library, she pleads to enter its ranks, trading her unusually abundant mana for a place within the order. Though born a commoner, she’s granted the blue robes of a noble apprentice priestess—an arrangement Myne accepts gladly for the promise of near-limitless books.

Life in the Church quickly reveals the price of that access. Noble customs and politics are harsh, and tensions run high between the noble-born blue robes and the common-born gray robes. With the High Priest working to push her out and her new attendants proving difficult to manage, Myne leans on her family and friends—and the mysterious Head Priest, whose intentions are hard to read—as she fights to protect her place and keep moving toward her dream of becoming the ultimate librarian.
