Bungo and Alchemist -Gears of Judgement-

Renowned authors from across history are reborn by an unseen force known only as the Alchemist, their souls tethered to a vast library. Under this enigmatic guidance, they enter books themselves, venturing into the stories to cleanse their pages of monstrous corruptions called Taints. As they fight to restore each work, they also search for and bring back fellow writers who have become trapped inside the worlds they created.

Granted new, formidable forms for their missions, the resurrected authors don’t all return whole: some retain clear traces of their former selves, while others grapple with fading memories of their lives and the titles they once wrote. With no clear endpoint in sight, they continue forward, driven by duty and by the hope of uncovering the truth behind their revival—and the lingering questions that followed them even before death.
