A rare celestial event is on the horizon in the Alola Region, as a total solar eclipse promises to captivate those who witness it. Satoshi, eager not to miss this once-in-a-lifetime occasion, teams up with Mamane for a journey to Eclipse Island, the prime location for viewing the phenomenon. There, they encounter Fred, a passionate "Solar Eclipse Hunter" who travels the globe in search of these extraordinary occurrences. However, as the day arrives, clouds threaten to obscure their view, prompting the group to venture up a nearby mountain for a clearer perspective.

Unbeknownst to them, Team Rocket has also caught wind of the eclipse, believing it to be the perfect opportunity to capture rare Pokémon and snag Pikachu in the process. As they make their way to the mountain, a confrontation looms. With the eclipse beginning in the midst of their rivalry, Satoshi and his friends must find a way to enjoy the breathtaking event while navigating the chaos around them.
