Synopsis

At the world’s edge lies the Kingdom of Ozmargo, a realm of beasts of every shape and kind, governed by a fearsome king who remains without a name. When a century-long war with a neighboring human kingdom finally ends, peace comes at a brutal price: each year, a human must be offered to the king to be devoured on the Night of Revelation.

Sariphi arrives as the 99th sacrifice. Despite her delicate appearance, she shows no fear—and with no family or home waiting for her, she has little reason to run. Her boldness catches the king’s attention, and he allows her to move freely within the palace, even as his advisor Anubis objects.
