Synopsis

In a fantasy world where monster attacks are a constant threat, adventuring parties are admired for the fame and prestige they can earn. Hoping to build a reputation of his own, a young human warrior named Alvin sets out to tackle a simple guild request as his first step toward becoming a recognized adventurer.

His plans go sideways when a magical bear corners him on the road. A dark elf healer, Karla, wanders in and offers help with a baffling lack of urgency, and a conversation made needlessly difficult by her eccentric nature follows. Alvin manages to enlist her aid—only for Karla to mistakenly place a curse on him: if he gets too far away from her, he’ll die.

Bound to Karla until the curse can be lifted, Alvin presses on toward his goal, now with an unpredictable companion whose “support” can make the road ahead either smoother or far more troublesome, depending on her mood.
