Nike is an ordinary boy from Boering Village who has no interest in playing the hero. That changes when a royal notice from Ainshent Castle Town calls for champions to defeat the Demon Lord Giri—and Nike’s overly eager father all but shoves him into the role. Teaming up with Kukuri of the Migu Migu Clan, he sets off on a journey he never asked for.

Crossing continents together, Nike and Kukuri search for the mysteries of Guru Guru Magic, an unusual yet potent art said to seal away Giri’s power. Even as Nike grumbles through the quest, the pair’s travels bring unexpected allies and plenty of comedic detours along the road to becoming the heroes the world is counting on.
