The Dawn of the Witch

Sable studies at the Royal Magic Academy in the Kingdom of Wenias, but his grades sit firmly at the bottom of the class—and he can’t remember anything from before he arrived there. When Headmaster Albus offers him a special training assignment in the south, Sable accepts without hesitation. He sets out with Roux Cristasse, the Dawn Witch, along with Holt, a human girl with antlers, and Kudd, a lizard Beastfallen, to found a witches’ village in a land where hostility toward magic still runs deep.

The journey is complicated by the lingering threat of the Dia Ignis Arbiters, infamous witch hunters who once slaughtered witches and civilians alike. Though the group was dissolved and pardoned after the war between the Church and witches ended five years earlier, former members remain in the shadows, ready to seize any mage they find. With Roux’s Staff of Ludens—the “witch-eater”—and Sable’s seemingly limitless magic, the party pushes forward, knowing failure carries a steep price: Sable will lose his memories of magic and the academy, along with his only lead to the silver-haired mage who once saved him.
