Grimoire of Zero

In a land locked in ongoing conflict between humans and witches, the “beastfallen” live on the margins—humans cursed with animal-like features and strength. Feared by both sides for their appearance and power, many are driven into the life of sellswords, often taking contracts to hunt witches just to survive.

Zero, a surprisingly easygoing witch, hires a beastfallen she simply calls “Mercenary” to serve as her bodyguard. Alongside Albus, a young magician, the trio sets off to find the Grimoire of Zero, a formidable spellbook whose power could spell disaster if claimed by the wrong hands. As their travels unfold, Mercenary’s buried decency comes to the surface, and the unlikely companions begin to bridge the divide between humans and witches.
