Arknights Animation: Prelude to Dawn

On the world of Terra, a jet-black mineral called Originium has transformed society. Its immense energy output has driven rapid technological progress and enables people to wield Arts—powers that resemble magic. Yet Originium is inseparable from Catastrophes, destructive natural disasters whose aftermath often reveals massive deposits of the mineral.

The same resource that fuels advancement also spreads Oripathy, an incurable and highly contagious disease. Those infected are pushed to the margins, and the resulting persecution gives rise to Reunion, a militant movement that answers oppression with ruthless attacks that leave cities in ruins and deepen the chaos already stirred by Catastrophes.

Rhodes Island stands against that cycle as a paramilitary pharmaceutical group devoted to treating infected and uninfected alike, and is regarded as the most advanced in the search for a cure. Their efforts hinge on a key researcher known only as the Doctor—an enigmatic leader whose amnesia threatens to stall what may be the best chance for the infected to reclaim their future.
