Kimberly Magic Academy instructor Theodore McFarlane is struck by the swordsmanship of Nanao Hibiya and pulls the samurai back from the brink during a brutal fight. Urged to seek a new path, Nanao enrolls at Kimberly—only to draw immediate attention when she and four fellow newcomers rescue a student from a rampaging troll.
