At Walpurgis Royal Academy of Machinart, the art of “Machinart” combines magic with engineering to grant life and intellect to mechanical dolls known as automatons. With armies worldwide beginning to adopt these creations, the academy exists to shape elite puppeteers capable of commanding automatons in combat.

Raishin Akabane arrives after failing the entrance exams, accompanied by his humanoid automaton, Yaya. To earn a place in the Evening Party—a fierce contest where puppeteers and their automatons battle for dominance—he must defeat one of the academy’s top hundred students. Victory in the Party brings the coveted title of “Wiseman” and access to forbidden techniques, setting Raishin on a determined climb through duels, rivalries, and the lingering weight of his past.
