Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf

Kraft Lawrence, a traveling merchant hauling a load of fur pelts, makes a stop in the village of Pasloe. The locals still whisper about an old pact: long ago, the wolf deity Holo promised to bless the town’s wheat harvests, though the tale has faded into little more than folklore with time.

After concluding his trade, Lawrence resumes his journey—only to find a naked, animal-eared girl asleep among his cargo. She introduces herself as Holo, the legendary wolf, and asks to be taken north to her distant homeland. Their meeting begins on uneasy terms, but Holo’s sharp mind and long years of experience soon prove valuable, and Lawrence agrees to travel with her in exchange for her help.

As the two move from town to town, they chase the chances and risks of commerce wherever they appear, navigating deals that challenge Lawrence’s instincts and gradually reshape the bond forming between merchant and wise wolf.
