Orient: Awajishima Gekitou-hen

After Musashi saves Michiru Saruwatari from a demon, Kojirou Kanemaki uncovers a startling link to the Uesugi clan through his father. Eager to understand where he comes from, Kojirou joins forces with the Kanemaki clansmen and signs on to Uesugi’s punitive campaign on Awaji Island, where the demon lord Yamata no Orochi—an eight-headed dragon—threatens to swallow the region whole.

Within Uesugi’s alliance, Musashi is confronted with the brutal gap between his ambitions and the strength demanded on the battlefield. Shaken by his shortcomings and his difficulty fighting as part of a unit, he’s forced to learn cooperation alongside unfamiliar comrades. At the same time, the Obsidian Eight renew their pursuit of Musashi and the Obsidian Goddess said to reside within him, moving to disrupt the island operation as competing factions close in with their own designs.
