April Showers Bring May Flowers

Fifteen-year-old Hana Tabata has long resigned herself to the idea that a memorable high school romance isn’t in the cards. Even though she adores shoujo manga, flowers, and all things cute, she sees herself as a supporting player—chubby, round-faced, bespectacled, and freckled in ways she believes don’t fit conventional standards of attractiveness.

That outlook begins to shift when a chance encounter leads to an unexpected friendship with Yousuke Ueno, a kind and approachable classmate. As Hana tries to sort through the mixed emotions stirred up by growing closer to him, she remains unaware that the very love story she’s always imagined may already be quietly unfolding.
