In their final year of middle school, the five girls of the band CRYCHIC split apart after a bitter breakup. Carrying lingering regrets, they enter different high schools determined to keep their distance and leave the past behind.

Midyear transfer student Anon Chihaya arrives at Haneoka Girls' Academy, where forming bands is a common pastime. Eager to belong, she starts scouting members for a group of her own—imagining herself as the vocalist—and soon befriends Tomori Takamatsu, a timid classmate who shows interest but can’t quite commit. Tomori’s reluctance traces back to her time in CRYCHIC, an experience that left deep emotional scars.

Anon’s connection to Tomori leads her to Taki Shiina and Soyo Nagasaki, also former CRYCHIC members. Taki bristles at the idea of playing alongside Anon, while Soyo readily offers support, bringing Anon closer to making her band a reality—so long as she can still gather the remaining members.
