Magical girls now operate as professionals, backed by an industry of more than five hundred companies, from scrappy startups to major corporations, all competing to answer emergency calls and keep the public safe.

Kana Sakuragi, a diligent new graduate, can’t seem to secure a job despite countless interviews. During one particularly important meeting, a Kaii attack throws everything into chaos, and Kana ends up assisting the magical girl on the scene. With no combat training to speak of, she contributes the way she knows best—leaning on sharp recall and broad knowledge to help bring the threat under control.

The outspoken magical girl Hitomi Koshigaya sees promise in Kana and offers her a place at Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc., the fledgling company where she works. Eager to do something meaningful, Kana accepts and steps into the role herself, discovering that while office life may not suit her, the work of a magical girl just might.
