Final Fantasy VII: On the Way to a Smile - Episode: Denzel

In the wake of the three-way struggle between Shinra, Avalanche, and Sephiroth, the planet begins a slow recovery. On the fringes of Midgar’s shattered remains, a new settlement called Edge rises. There, Reeve Tuesti—once Shinra’s head of Urban Development—meets a young survivor named Denzel, considering him for the World Regenesis Organization, a group dedicated to safeguarding and restoring the world.

As Reeve listens, Denzel shares the painful story of what happened after Avalanche’s fight left Midgar in ruins, taking away everyone he had known. Speaking those memories aloud becomes more than a retelling of loss, guiding Denzel toward a reason to keep moving forward.
