Synopsis

At the esteemed Fujinari Academy, Ume Mizunoe, a first-year student, shines in Japanese literature but finds himself grappling with his dismal performance in science, putting his academic future in jeopardy. In a bid to improve his grades, he decides to join the student council, where he quickly encounters an eclectic group of individuals. Among them are a charming yet secretly reserved president, a treasurer who balances kindness with a commanding presence, a mischievous yet endearing classmate, and a petite, cat-like secretary with a playful demeanor.

As Ume navigates the vibrant and often unpredictable world of student council activities, he soon discovers that his school life has taken on a new level of excitement. With each meeting and interaction, the dynamics among the council members bring both challenges and laughter, promising a memorable journey filled with camaraderie and unexpected twists.

Otaku Consensus

Early reception sits in positive-but-not-breakout territory: the 72/100 AniList score reflects approval for the cast chemistry, rapid-fire slapstick, and Naoyuki Tatsuwa’s energetic handling of Muchimaro’s award-winning comedy. The adaptation’s heavy commitment to nudity, innuendo, and deliberately indecorous punchlines is also its clearest dividing line, making the humor more abrasive than its polished school-club packaging suggests.

Why You Should Watch

If you want the student-council setup of Seitokai Yakuindomo with a more visually elastic, mixed-gender ensemble, this is built for you. The appeal lies in watching respectable school archetypes collapse under rapid-fire misunderstandings, physical comedy, and startlingly shameless innuendo; AniList users rank slapstick, mixed-gender harem dynamics, and nudity among its defining elements. Passione gives that chaos a dedicated production team led by director Naoyuki Tatsuwa, character designer Ryou Imamura, and five credited main animators, while Masahiro Yokotani’s series composition has a compact 12-episode format in which to control the escalation. It is especially suited to viewers who want risqué ensemble comedy without waiting through a romance-first setup, but its explicit streak is a feature rather than an occasional detour.

Key Characters

  • U
    Ume Mizunoe(VA: Shougo Sakata)

Ume’s combination of literary eloquence and scientific incompetence makes him an unusually articulate straight man for a cast that rarely respects his attempts at normality.

  • H
    Hisako Kotobuki(VA: Haruka Shiraishi)

The council president’s comic appeal comes from the gap between her charming public presence and the reserve she keeps hidden from the student body.

  • K
    Komaro Michinoku(VA: Miyu Tomita)

Komaro turns the petite, catlike secretary design into a source of playful disruption rather than treating it as a purely decorative character gimmick.

  • T
    Tan Otori(VA: Hiyori Kouno)

Tan’s treasurer persona pairs genuine kindness with enough commanding force to make even routine council exchanges feel like confrontations.

What Makes It Stand Out

  • 1

Passione’s production credits five main animators individually: Kay Yu, kona ming, Asatoshi Oki, mockingbird, and SanzashiAme. That unusually visible core team signals an emphasis on maintaining expressive physical comedy across the 12-episode run.

  • 2

Director Naoyuki Tatsuwa works from series composition by Masahiro Yokotani, giving the adaptation a defined split between visual gag delivery and season-level comic structure rather than relying solely on the manga’s individual punchlines.

  • 3

The audience tag profile is unusually explicit about the show’s priorities: slapstick sits at 86%, mixed-gender harem dynamics at 85%, nudity at 83%, and femboy content at 70%. Those labels position it closer to an unruly late-night comedy than a conventional student-council sitcom.

  • 4

The five listed leads form a mixed-gender comic unit rather than a single heroine orbiting the protagonist, with Ume functioning as only one part of the central cast despite being the viewpoint character.

  • 5

Its Sunday 00:30 JST broadcast slot places the series firmly in late-night programming, matching the trailer’s frank sexual jokes and the source material’s boundary-pushing reputation.
