Mermaid Forest

An old legend warns that eating mermaid flesh can bestow immortality. Five centuries ago, Yuta consumed it without knowing the cost, and has since wandered across Japan in search of a mermaid—hoping that finding one might offer a way to return to an ordinary human life.

When he finally encounters mermaids, the truth is far darker: they preserve their youth by preying on a girl they’ve been raising as future food. Yuta intervenes, killing the mermaids and saving the captive Mana, but she has already tasted the same flesh that bound him to an endless life. With their fates now intertwined, Yuta and Mana travel together, seeking other mermaids and a chance to undo the immortality that has become their curse.
