In/Spectre

Yōkai live alongside humanity, largely unnoticed, and most keep to themselves. Still, some incidents threaten the fragile balance between the two worlds. After accepting the role of the yōkai’s “God of Wisdom,” Kotoko Iwanaga acts as their go-between, using her insight to negotiate peace and settle strange disputes that no one else can explain.

While visiting a hospital, Kotoko meets Kurou Sakuragawa, a university student reeling from a painful breakup. Drawn to him and sensing something uncanny beneath his calm exterior, she asks Kurou to work with her in handling yōkai-related troubles.

Two years later, a notorious case grips the public: an idol said to have died in an accident involving falling steel beams. Months afterward, rumors spread of a faceless woman carrying a steel beam through the streets. Kotoko and Kurou take on the mystery, only to find that the haunting is more complicated—and more personal—than it first appears.
