Yuji vanishes on the very night he was meant to decide between staying with Shana in the fight against evil or living as an ordinary high schooler. When he suddenly reappears after brushing against death, he stands at the head of the Crimson Denizens, pursuing a questionable plan he claims will bring peace to the universe—one Shana refuses to accept at face value.
