Sakura Sakurakouji may come across as gentle and upbeat, but she’s also a capable martial artist with an unshakable commitment to doing what’s right. After a bus ride home leaves her witnessing people consumed by eerie blue flames, she reports the killing—only for the police to find no trace that anything happened. Her certainty returns the next day when a new transfer student, Rei Oogami, arrives in her class: the same boy she saw at the scene.
