Final Approach

After losing their parents several years earlier, Ryo has been getting by with his younger sister, Akane, and the two have settled into a modest but stable routine. That fragile normalcy doesn’t last when a confidential government initiative aimed at Japan’s declining birth rate suddenly reaches their doorstep.

Ryo is selected for a trial program that compels two young people to marry, and his refusal carries little weight. Late one night, his assigned fiancée Shizuka arrives at his home accompanied by a large detail of government bodyguards tasked with making sure the arrangement proceeds. Where Ryo resists the forced engagement, Shizuka embraces it wholeheartedly—throwing herself into “wife” duties with earnest enthusiasm—and with friends and ever-present security adding to the pressure, Ryo’s everyday life is quickly turned into a chaotic tangle of comedy, drama, and romance.
