Patema Inverted: Beginning of the Day

Patema Inverted: Beginning of the Day follows Patema, a teenage princess in a peaceful underground colony who can’t shake the desire to see more than the tight, industrial world she’s grown up in. Acting on that curiosity, she ventures into the forbidden “danger zone,” where a sudden encounter with a cloaked stranger sends her tumbling into a deep abyss.

She comes to in a place where gravity seems flipped—sky beneath her and the ground looming overhead—leaving her desperately gripping a fence to keep from falling into open air. A nearby student named Age manages to pull her to safety, but their first meeting raises a baffling question: which of them is truly the one who’s upside down?
