Taiyou no Mokushiroku: A Spirit of the Sun

On August 10, 2002, Japan is rocked by a catastrophic series of natural disasters, including the eruption of Mount Fuji and devastating earthquakes, plunging the nation into chaos. In the aftermath, another powerful quake strikes on August 15, leading to a division of the country: the North falls under Chinese governance while the South is overseen by the United States. Over the next 15 years, Japanese refugees seeking stability in Taiwan find themselves at odds with the local population, as tensions rise over competition for resources and employment.

Amidst this volatile backdrop is Genichiro Ryu, a young man shaped by the tragedies of his homeland, yet raised in Taiwan by adoptive parents. Striving for harmony, he becomes an active participant in the increasingly strained relationship between the Taiwanese and Japanese communities. Through his journey, he seeks to bridge the divide and foster understanding, hoping to create a future where both groups can coexist peacefully despite their shared struggles.
