Nanami Momozono is still floating from the tender moment she shared with her familiar, Tomoe—until she sees him accept a strange black box and coldly insist that, with it in hand, he no longer needs her. Unwilling to take his words at face value, Nanami sets up a distraction so she can uncover what’s really inside the box.

Later, after overhearing Mizuki suggest she may be getting a little too used to Tomoe taking care of her, Nanami becomes determined to prove she can stand on her own. A visit with Tomoe to a hot spring inn turns into a test of will when she hears of a fabled stone said to bless couples with lifelong happiness if they touch it together—and the arduous trek to reach it becomes even harder as Nanami stubbornly refuses Tomoe’s help.
