Higurashi: When They Cry – Kai

In the quiet village of Hinamizawa, Rika Furude and her friends appear to be enjoying an ordinary, peaceful summer. Rika, however, knows that the calm is only a surface—she carries the memory of repeated, brutal tragedies that return again and again as time inexplicably rewinds.

With each reset, Rika races to identify the force behind the mounting deaths before the cycle reaches its inevitable breaking point. But piecing together the truth with only fragments of information proves perilous, and every attempt to change the outcome risks collapsing into yet another failure. As the annual festival draws near, Rika’s remaining hope erodes, and her fight to escape a fate that seems determined to claim them all grows increasingly desperate.
