Synopsis
Set in the winter of 2028 during postwar rebuilding, *Ghost in the Shell: Arise - Border 4: Ghost Stands Alone* unfolds in New Port City as protests flare over the influence of foreign cartels. Rising unrest escalates into a shooting involving riot police, with the crisis traced back to a cyberbrain infection unleashed by the terrorist known as “Fire Starter.”
Motoko Kusanagi leads an independent offensive unit that moves to contain the chaos while pursuing its own sense of justice. As the investigation deepens, the case draws in two elusive figures—the “tin girl” Emma and the “scarecrow man” Burinda Junior—and Kusanagi closes in on what their ghosts were truly searching for beneath the surface of the incident.
