With the Inter-High behind them and summer nearing its end, Sakamichi Onoda throws himself into training alongside Shunsuke Imaizumi and Shoukichi Naruko. Determined to keep Team Sohoku’s tradition of supporting one another alive, he carries forward the resolve entrusted to him by the graduating third-years—Shingo Kinjou, Yusuke Makishima, and Jin Tadokoro.

Before the season can settle, Team Sohoku receives an invitation to the Kumamoto Fire Country Mountain Race, a special event for squads that distinguished themselves at the Inter-High. Kinjou chooses to send the team’s core Inter-High lineup, setting the stage for another demanding test on the road.
