Kagewani

A video blogger tries to stage cryptid footage for easy views, only for the prank to turn lethal when a genuine creature appears and tears through his crew. In another incident, students on school grounds are hunted by a massive, sandworm-like monster, forcing them into a frantic fight to stay alive.

As similar attacks spread, researcher Sousuke Banba begins tracing the pattern behind these mysterious beasts. With only the cryptic term “Kagewani” as a clue, he visits the scenes of recent tragedies in search of answers—and a way to stop the creatures—until the pharmaceutical company Sarugaku starts pressing into his work, bringing the danger uncomfortably close.
