Set in an alternate 1996, humanity has reached new heights in space exploration, establishing colonies on the Moon and Mars. However, the tensions of the Cold War continue to simmer, as both the United States and the Soviet Union expand their military presence in space, heightening the threat of nuclear conflict. Against this backdrop, a United Nations initiative aims to foster peace through an exchange program called the "Cosmic Culture Club," which sends a group of sixteen young people, accompanied by their instructor Elizabeth, to the Mars base.

Their hopes for a harmonious experience are dashed when an unexpected clash between powerful humanoid robots, known as Super Powered Tracers, erupts nearby. The UN base is soon engulfed in chaos, leaving only six survivors—Elizabeth and five students, including the 14-year-old Anna, who narrates their harrowing tale. Stranded on a now-hostile planet, the group must confront the reality of their situation as the last standing SPT descends and delivers a chilling message: "Earth is at stake.
