Dagashi Kashi

In a quiet rural town, Shikada Dagashi has been selling traditional Japanese sweets for nine generations. Kokonotsu Shikada, however, has no interest in carrying on the family shop—he’s set on becoming a manga artist, no matter how strongly his father urges him to take over.

That stalemate is shaken when the quirky Hotaru Shidare appears, seeking Kokonotsu’s father for a job at her family’s renowned confectionery company, Shidare Corporation. When he refuses, he offers a single condition: he’ll reconsider if Hotaru can persuade Kokonotsu to inherit the shop, setting her on a candy-filled effort to show him the appeal of classic, nostalgic dagashi.
