Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens

Jin Mikuriya has carried a childhood encounter with a deity ever since a day spent catching bugs, and it becomes the spark for his latest artwork: a wooden statue he calls “The Tree Spirit.” Planning to bring it to school and show it off, Jin is caught completely off guard when the sculpture suddenly draws in the earth around it—then bursts open, revealing a small, spirited girl.

Calling herself Nagi, a guardian of the land, she declares that Jin is now responsible for helping her purge the “impurities” tainting the area. With her sacred tree already cut down and her power exhausted, Nagi is left to do the job with little more than a magical wand, pulling Jin into a string of supernatural cleanups and everyday mischief as the two adjust to their unexpectedly shared life.
