Tsugumomo

In Japanese folklore, a tsukumogami is a household object that has awakened into a living, self-aware spirit. Among them are the seasoned tsugumomo, formed through many years of harmony with their owner, and the unstable amasogi—newly born beings that exist to fulfill certain people’s destructive desires.

After his mother’s death, Kazuya Kagami refuses to part with her cherished obi, keeping it close at home and at school. His life takes a sudden turn when he’s attacked by an amasogi, only to be saved when the obi reveals its true nature, taking the form of a girl named Kiriha—a tsugumomo once belonging to Kazuya’s mother. With Kiriha by his side, Kazuya is drawn into a hidden world where gods and tsukumogami are part of everyday reality.
