Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms

Maquia belongs to the Iorph, a secluded people said to live for centuries, keeping their distance from human struggles. Orphaned early, she feels isolated even among her own and quietly longs to see the world beyond her homeland—despite the clan chief’s warnings to stay away from it.

That world arrives in violence when the kingdom of Mezarte attacks, seeking to bind the Iorph’s longevity to its royal bloodline. With the invaders already commanding the remnants of the giant dragons known as the Renato, the Iorph settlement is devastated. Swept away during the chaos by a berserk Renato, Maquia awakens alone in a distant forest, where the sound of a crying infant leads her to a ruined village. She takes the child in, names him Ariel, and resolves to raise him—facing an unfamiliar human life, the challenges of motherhood, and the ache of watching someone she loves grow older far faster than she ever will.
