As the Holy Empire expands its influence, one territory after another is drawn under its rule—until its reach extends to Erin, a small island inhabited by the Gael tribe. There, the priestess Riannon is seized and prepared as a living offering to Arawn, the feared demon king said to have brought devastation in ages past.

Riannon’s brother, the tribe’s First Warrior Arthur, mounts a rescue, only for Arawn to appear before them in the form of a striking, grey-haired man. Keeping his true nature concealed, he offers his strength and guidance to the Gael as Arthur and Riannon gather allies—among them a skilled swordsman, a swift hunter, and a lively band of pixies—to resist the Empire’s advance and confront the unsettling truths buried in their world.
