After the Ends manage to drive back the assault on Verlina, peace is nowhere in sight. The monster armies withdraw to regroup, and the Black King strengthens his hold over lands already taken. Across Orte, fresh battles flare up as the remaining resistance fights to keep order while long-subjugated demi-human races push against the crumbling status quo.

With the Ends growing more dangerous by the day, Toyohisa Shimazu lies unconscious from the wounds he suffered at the Battle of Verlina. Surrounded by threats on all sides, the struggle for humanity’s survival remains precariously balanced.
