In *Kemurikusa (TV)*, a handful of girls gifted with unusual abilities scrape by in a barren world where water is scarce. Their refuge is an odd sight: a railcar pierced by a living tree. The fragile balance of their daily survival shifts when they encounter Wakaba, a boy who remembers nothing except his name.

Together, they set out across seas of searing red fog in search of the remaining water sources, pushing onward to distant islands where robotic insect-like creatures roam. Their chances hinge not only on their resolve, but also on Wakaba’s strange knack for deciphering the Kemurikusa—mysterious, glowing leaves said to hold remarkable power. With abandoned buildings stretching across the landscape and few signs of life beyond the girls, Wakaba, and the relentless bugs, the answers to what happened to this world seem tied to the secrets of the Kemurikusa.
