Dropout Idol Fruit Tart

Ino Sakura arrives in Tokyo eager to debut with Fruit Tart, a brand-new idol unit. She’s joined by three fellow “dropouts” with shaky careers of their own: former child actor Roko Sekino, would-be musician Hayu Nukui, and aspiring model Nina Maehara, who still hasn’t landed her first real job. The girls move into their shared dorm, the Mouse House—only to learn they’re already buried under a staggering 100 million yen debt before they’ve even properly begun.

With the threat of Fruit Tart disbanding and the Mouse House facing demolition if they can’t pay it back, Sakura and the others have to build their reputation from the ground up, including creating their own music. Their chances improve when Hemo Midori, a seasoned idol and devoted Sakura fan, decides to join, giving the group a much-needed boost as they chase popularity one lively day at a time.
