In the quaint town of Hinano, excitement builds as the renowned heroine Kamidaio is slated to perform. However, when Mikan Kise takes her little sister Yuzu to the highly anticipated event, they discover it has been unexpectedly canceled. Determined to lift Yuzu's spirits, Mikan vows to create an alternative experience for her sister.

With the enthusiastic assistance of her classmate Ann Akagi, a devoted fan of local heroines, Mikan stages a makeshift performance of Kamidaio, complete with homemade costumes. The charming production, while lacking in polish, captivates the young audience. Misaki Shirogane, the student council president with aspirations of revitalizing Hinano, records the performance and shares it online, sparking a wave of interest. Impressed by their initiative, Misaki recruits Mikan and Ann to officially represent Hinano as local heroines, leading them on a journey filled with creativity and collaboration as they strive to enhance their performances with the help of a vibrant cast of characters.
