Reito Mizuhara, a medical student at Tokyo’s National Advanced Medical School, is diagnosed with a rare and deadly illness known as cellular sclerosis. Hoping for a cure, he enters cryogenic sleep for five years—only to wake to a world transformed. During his absence, the Male Killer (MK) virus spread across the globe, striking only males and wiping out every other man.

Reito and four other men survived thanks to their cryosleep and emerge immune, leaving them as humanity’s last remaining males and placing them under pressure to help restore the population. Yet Reito can’t accept the role expected of him: his heart remains with his childhood friend and only love, Elisa Tachibana, and he’s shaken to learn she disappeared three years earlier. While the other survivors adjust to the new order, Reito resists constant temptation, searches for Elisa, and digs into the secrets behind the MK virus.
