Dusk Beyond the End of the World

After emerging from an extended cryogenic sleep, high schooler Akira Himegami opens his eyes to a future that feels unrecognizable. The city has been reduced to wartime ruins, society is overseen by an organization called OWEL, and even marriage has been replaced by a new framework known as “Elsie.”

Still trying to make sense of the world he’s lost, Akira is confronted by Yuugure—a girl who looks strikingly like his girlfriend, Towasa. With a calm smile, she asks him to marry her. Bewildered but unable to ignore the possibility that Towasa may still be alive somewhere, Akira sets out alongside Yuugure, and their journey becomes a quiet exploration of how love has changed in this new age—and what their connection truly signifies.
