The House of the Lost on the Cape

In the wake of a devastating earthquake and tsunami, two young girls find themselves at a crossroads. Eight-year-old Hiyori, grappling with the loss of her parents, crosses paths with Yui, who is fleeing an abusive home life. Arriving at Kitsunezaki station, their fates intertwine in the aftermath of chaos, leading them to an evacuation site where their identities are called into question. It is there that they meet Kiwa Yamana, a compassionate elderly woman who offers them refuge and guidance.

Under Kiwa's care, Hiyori and Yui—now known by their new names—embark on a transformative journey. Together, the trio begins to forge a life in the charming old house known as "Mayoiga," perched on the cliffs and overlooking the vast sea. As they navigate their shared experiences and the complexities of their new reality, they discover the power of connection, healing, and the bonds that can form even in the most unexpected circumstances.
