Himari Kino is bright, sociable, and the kind of girl who can strike up a friendship anywhere. On her first day of high school, she’s swept away by a performance from Yori Asanagi—an older student with a quiet, reserved presence—and, caught up in the moment, blurts out a confession of love right after the show. For Yori, who has little experience with romance, the sudden attention is as confusing as it is unexpected.

Searching for clarity through her friends and her music, Yori tries to answer Himari’s feelings—only to realize Himari’s “love” was sparked by the song and the stage, not by knowing Yori herself. Even so, Yori can’t let it end there. Determined to be loved for who she is, she begins spending time with Himari after school on the rooftop where she usually plays guitar, hoping those feelings will change into something real.
