365 Days to the Wedding

Takuya Oohara and Rika Honjouji are quiet, introverted coworkers at a Tokyo travel agency who are perfectly content with single life. Takuya relaxes at home with his cat, while Rika spends her evenings absorbed in studying maps. Their comfortable routines are shaken when the company announces plans to open an Alaska branch in a year—and to transfer an unmarried employee there.

On a day off, the two unexpectedly run into each other and, despite barely knowing one another, share their anxieties about the looming relocation. Spurred by the realization that they’re in the same situation, Rika suggests an audacious workaround: they’ll pose as an engaged couple for the next 365 days. Takuya agrees, setting them on a course where protecting their familiar lifestyles may prove far more complicated than either anticipated.
