Nodame Cantabile OVA

Yukihisa Matsuda, chief conductor of the Rising Star Orchestra, comes to Paris to lead the Recyl Symphony Orchestra as a guest for Wagner’s *Tannhäuser* Overture. His arrival quickly puts him on edge when he hears musicians speaking admiringly of Shinichi Chiaki, the up-and-coming Japanese conductor of the Roux-Marlet Orchestra—another “Black-Haired Noble” sharing the same city.

After the concert and a sudden breakup with his mistress, Matsuda corners Chiaki and invites him out for drinks under the guise of talking shop. Chiaki expects a professional conversation, but the night veers into far more personal territory when Matsuda’s curiosity shifts to the person closest to Chiaki’s heart.
